... et pour les roses de l'amour!

Raining in Sydney today, something it doesn't do a lot or nearly enough. Still, it's not like real rain, real Vancouver rain. The air isn't any fresher.

Today was very productive. Meetings dribbling out me arse and running down me leg. Sent off revisions on a journal article, which should be out in May or June. Started thinking about packing for New Zealand.

Did I mention, thousands of readers, that we're off to Aotearoa tomorrow evening? I'll be meeting Max's sister Julia and husband and progeny (x 2) for the first time. And I heart NZ. And we're in business class on points. And I heart NZ. I'm jonesing for at least one dip in a natural hot spring, picking up some lanolin, eating some fush n chups. Yus!

It's a fly-by visit: in Wed night, back Tuesday morning. We've hired a campervan so we can wander a bit from Auckland. Apparently it's been a poopy summer over there, but I don't care. It's like a real social democracy, almost Canada-like.

*does happy dance*

With the drought over the last few years we have missed the rain that we would normally get in Sydney. No doubt Vancouver being on the west coast receives more. I think you will enjoy Aotearoa. It is worthwhile spending a few weeks there to see North and South Islands, especially the south. The south west coast will be wet enough for you, Ithink.
Canada and NZ are very similar in their approach. I often think about emigrating across the ditch to an independent social democracy. I keep hearing more and more about Vancouver, and it an attractive option as well.

I wanna go tooooo. I wanna gooooooo!

I musr say that NZ is my second favourite holiday ever, yes even more than the Cooks, only Bora Bora rates higher (with rates much higher!). I've never been to a more enchanting place, especially N of Auckland, as I've said before, it's like someone took England and crumpled it up a bit.

When we left Auckland on Saturday it was sunny and 24 degrees. Back to drizzly old Wales now! Even the fesh n chups are soggy here.

ahhhh you will love it over there - Urge is a good bar in Auckland to go to, Taupo is better place than Routarua, and camervan thing is heaps of fun, just dont back hard sided bags - take soft stuff, easier to hide away.

p.s. if time visit napier
