I came out of the womb with the cracklin' intelligence. However I didn't muster the focus required to harness it until my 30s. Christ that was a long period of frustration, confusion and self-doubt.

And I can still remember how that feels.

If I could go back in my Tardis time-machine ... the things I would do different knowing what I know now. Ain't it the truth that youth is wasted on the young? Hope all is well today.

but you must have had that feeling, when you were 13 or 14, like "I'm not cut out for this - there must be something else...". I know that the healthy industrial sized portion of scorn that I poured over my upbringing was (probably) inspired by the fact that I had to question everything, as nothing that was offered to me was palatable. I've often wondered whether, if I was straight, I would be living in the suburbs, drinking Duff beer and watching sports on my 52" TV.

Yes, true, but I feel that I made that choice and it wasn't one of the easy options offered to me, I wasn't going with the flow, so, in some twisted way, I get some personal satisfaction from that.
...and I love living in the ghetto :)
