étouffé, acheté, bougé, magasiné
Jun. 12th, 2005 11:19 amOne of the joys of this week past has been the processing of Harbour City Bears membership renewals. We only sell memberships for a set period of time (June-May), which means everyone’s rolls over at once. Overall it makes administrative life easier for the club, but means that May/June sucks sucks hard. This week I updated, printed, laminated, stuffed, and stickered 100+ renewals. Which means that almost 2/3 of the members have already renewed for this year--pretty good for one month.
But my hands are chapped and calloused. Must. Not. Touch. Netherregions. Ow!
I had to go to The Body Shop for some many personal hygiene stuff yesterday. Got some White Musk bath gel, some White Musk eau de toilette (I don’t use deodorant), some lip balm, some toner and moisturizer....have you figured out how much work it take to manly and gorgeous? Since I was in the neighbourhood I popped into Gowings, who’s having their annual clearance. For the first time in over 20 years I bought jeans with a zipper; I couldn’t bear to pay $100.00 for 501s. I need to have the legs taken up to leprechaun size (chunky Galway genetics means buying 33 x 32 and having 3 inches chopped off the legs) before I can wear them. Also grabbed a couple of shirts.
Last night
querrelle led me (he didn’t drag me, just for the record) to the Nuh Zuhlund Bullut--or the New Zealand Ballet in English--at the Sydney Theatre. Bear in mind I don’t “get” dance for the most part. And bear also in mind that I was tired after a shitty night’s sleep the night before. There were 3 piece 1 of which was OK, 1 of which was awful (like watch groups masturbation done by disinterested and unhorny people, ‘cept it was dance), and 1 was brilliant. Since that was the sequencing--OK, awful, brilliant--we left on a high note. Thanks baby!
Today we go to shop for a new laptop for Mr. Man. He was gonna wait until we got to Soviet Canuckistan, but the idea of being computerless for 2 months just didn’t pass muster. Fair enough. I can already feel my nipples tingling with commodity fetishism! Even if he’s not buying a Mac*.
Otherwise we have the Bears AGM in 3 weeks so I’ve got to send some stuff out by e-mail by Tuesday: I’ll prep that this arvo. Tomorrow is a holiday here, so we’re gonna whoop it up at the Midnight Shift for Oldies night.

querrelle is one of the few persons I know who has a legitimate reason for sticking with Windows
