1974 - Sweden - ABBA - Waterloo
22 (61.1%)

1998 - Israel - Dana International - Diva
14 (38.9%)

No surprise here, ABBA remains the only Eurovision winner to launch a successful
international career from their participation in the Contest. And in 1974 you
performed with a live orchestra.

Congratulations ABBA! And thanks everyone for playing along. Everyone wins
a prize: click here for an mp3 of ABBA’s Eurovision-winning entrie, complete with giddy
introduction by the BBC’s Terry Wogan.

Waterloo was one of the songs that was played at our reception.
True story. It was a big hit.

Everybody knows that Waterloo by far the best. I'm wondering why there's even gonna be a competition.

Sigh, after ferocious voting, Volare is still my favorite. :D Of course, one can't deny the greatness that is ABBA, maybe I've just become immune to Waterloo somehow...

Congrats anyways to our western neighbour :)

They showed it live here in Sweden last night. It was my first exposure to many of the songs and artists, and I truly did like quite a few of them (I liked the winner of last year as well as the campy runner up.)

I nabbed a photo in the airport yesterday for you as well. I'll post it as soon as I get hotel WiFi again.

And the winner was...

Of course it was ABBA

I watched the show at my friends Alex and Eduard's flat but it was damned poor... Really really really poor. What the hell were those dancers and the pseudo-remixed songs with the huge videowall? It was more than awful

The only good things were when some artists performed the medleys. Unsurprisingly none in spanish (I also think we only send crap to the ESC).

The videos of the shows were also nice. I guess they should have avoided the "dancers under the video-wall" theme. My god...

Smooches from Barcelona and back to the UK tomorrow
