monts et merveilles
May. 27th, 2003 12:56 pmDo I get what I want, need, or deserve? A particularly Catlick rubric to be sure, but
I'm downstairs in The Girls' place. A few days ago I set up their DSL, and today had to verify things with Telco: all is up and running. Tone's roommate (a/k/a BreederBob) needs to practice piano--alone--and besides, I've lots of work to do. So it's win win win for Girls, BB et moi. Since I've been inconsistent in blogging as of late, I felt the need to check in with all y'all too.
Current reports from the universeindicate strongly that I'll be in Sydney until October or November at least--maybe as long as 2 years beyond that. I've not only come to accept this (90% anyways), I can endorse it too. Certainly career-wise it's the way to go; and for me personally there's some things I need to explore Down Under, beyond what the original until-end-of-August plan would have permitted. Including, but not wholly
querrelle.
But whilst here in Hongcouver, I've managed to see many of the folks I wanted to, and do things I've missed. Last night brrd, with whom I did Montréal BBQ (avec poutine, biensûr!) and chatted for 5 hours. Back to instant comfort, j'uis chanceur. Then a lovely long chat with
querrelle, before dozing off around 01h00.
I can't say that I'm wholly pleased with how things are unfolding--there is still a strong part of me that wants to feel wholly able to decide how (and where) I live my life. And really I've largely got that--but I'm endeavouring to play my hand wisely. Which requires focus and tenacity (got lots of those), as well as patience (less of that, but improving). More will be revealed...
Well the DSL is working, the software is (mostly) updated, and I've got reports to plow through.
