jawnbcWhat a Jewish, (ana)Baptist, or Calvinist ethos have in common is their celebration of individualism, in terms of work, wealth and social institution. Whereas the Catholic ethos is largely collectivist: pursuance of individual excellence, unless wholly situated as the betterment of all, is in fact evil as well as selfish.
