Just off the Skype to Ma (currently if you buys some Skype credits, calls within North America are 100% free). She's alright, excited about buying a new house they might not live in for a couple of years (they've moved upstairs from Nanny and won't move until she dies). Still, it's nice to hear her excited. And now my sister's thinking of moving her brood out to Pennsylvania (where Ma & Da, Uncle Kevin & Aunt Nancy, cousine Mary & her husband Paddy & kids all live). Rockaway is fading...fading...fading...

I'm working at home. Really. Been reasonably productive so far, and I see the finish line for this journal article...gawd it's been a loooong haul. Off to Toronto to natter with other academic wankers, with evenings full of schillerium,danthered, & bitterlawngnome; and Gawd knows who else.


Oh course I know who else: the Gawddess stoplabelingme! On va se souper samedi soir. ou? Aucune idee--anyone recommend a reasonable place to eat?

Tragedy has struck! My ride bailed and my ATM card got stolen: I cancelled it before there were any charges, but I have to wait six days for access to my money. This leaves me utterly without the ability to travel to Toronto. AND my kitten died.

This week sucks.

Much love, though. I'm going to miss you by a weekend in New York, too!
