That's FUNNY!! I used to think he was kinda hawt too. I was a big ABBA fan. Me n my sis and the two neighbor kids would dance around on our backyard picnic table lip synching to ABBA when we were like...17 or 18...(kidding! more like around 9 or 10!!) Those were the days. I watched a bit of that show and caught the bit with Benny and Bjorn on stage with U2 singing Dancing Queen! Holy Shit! (note the caps there!) I kinda hate U2 now, but that would have been awesome to have seen live! Any idea where that was filmed? And Dancing Queen was THE song that got me into ABBA (and pop music) and my subsequent purchase of "Arrival" and everything else followed. (KISS, Twisted Sister, Iron Maiden, David Bowie....)

It was a prepubescent crush for me. I got my first ABBA album (ABBA's Greatest Hits, Vol. II) when I was around 9 or 10. When you open up the gatefold sleeve, there are large photographs of each of the members of the band, and Benny's was a picture of him jogging in blue short shorts. I couldn't stop looking at it, I just didn't know why yet!

Do you know that I have come to the conclusion that the reason I love 'beary' men so much is that, as a five year old, I was OBSESSED with Benny from ABBA!?

I now look back, and realise that it was some form of pre-pubescent sexual attraction - and for the EXACT same reasons as yourself - the beard, the hairy chest and the smile! Also the piano too - in fact, I remember performing 'concerts' with a girl neighbour for our parents at afternoon teas - and I was always Benny, playing merrily on the organ! So to speak...

And until I understood the difference between 2D and 3D in photographs, I tried SO hard to look under the gold lame strip that was wrapped around Benny in the most risque marketing poster of all ABBA time! LOL
