This is how I choose to remember the land of my birthday: with hope, and more than a little awe. It's easy to forget the many good things the US of A have brought to the world these last 230 years. Many achievements. On top of its incredible beauty.

This land is your land, this land is my land
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me

As I was walking a ribbon of highway
I saw above me an endless skyway
I saw below me a golden valley
This land was made for you and me

Stumbling back into the groove of life today. Flight was delayed getting in, so our reunion plans--parts of them--needed to be moved to today instead. I'll make up for the delay though--yeah baby! I was supposed to get some oral this morning...as in having my French assessed by The Government. A mix-up precluded that; now it probably won't be until August. Or September. Maybe the voice message has to go to third reading?

Today's theme is lit review, the reading for which I'm plodding through. I hope to move past reading into synthesis mode by the end of next week. From there I'll identify some domains of inquiry for my questionnaires, and start getting others' perspective on it. If I'm gonna apply for an operating grant I need to have this all in the bag by 01 August.

I'm also doing laundry. I'm sure the very idea of it (kweers with clean clothes) scares the bejaysus out of youse. Well groomed: the heart of the Gay Agenda™.
