A really really nice sleep wrapped around the man I love. And lust. And like. And respect. But am still feeling knackered; methinks the week(s) has caught up with me. This morning's rollerblading lesson only exacerbated things.

Yes, correct: rollerblading lessons. [livejournal.com profile] querrelle took the intro course a few weeks back and got a lot of it. The intermediate class started while I was in NY and [livejournal.com profile] querrelle was right, 'tis an arsekicker. Today we learned 3 ways to stop, several ways to turn, how to skate backwards, and how to transition between skating backwards and forwards--all in 75 minutes. I was drenched in sweat and rubber-legged by the end of it, but jaysus I learned a lot. We then hit our local butcher (featuring sexually ambiguous teen dude) for some steaks and proper bacon. Then it was a sushi lunch, some grocery shopping and planting my wide arse on the chosen chair.

Aside from reunion, the theme of the last 24 hours seems to have been fish. Last night we had a yummy dinner at the Fish House: if you're in Vancouver and want a great meal served with polish rather than attitude, Fish House it. Both of us had the special salmon sampler that featured coho, silverbrite and sockeye. Of the three, coho was both of our least favourite; both silverbrite and sockeye were flavourful, meaty and nicely textured. Really nice.

Glad you are back home and recovering from the last week or so.I keep intending to take up roller blading but...

Life's pretty boring without bacon

So given the varied locations that you have lived in during your life, what is "proper bacon". Is it the American style, Canadian style, or the Aussie cut (which I suspect is also Canadian Bacon). I was SO distessed when I moved Down Under to learn that crispy bacon was a thing of my past.

Meaty and nicely textured is exactly the way I think of you!

quite off topic, but I have to say I love the way you talk about your husband. Makes me feel all mushy.
