Dear Universe:

Today is 20 September. It is not November or December or January. It isn't even October. It's 20 September.

So it's too early for the first day of miserable, ubiquitous, soaking rainforest Vancouver rain. Way too soon.

So make it stop, OK?

Best,

PS yes it was a lovely summer, but we're entitled to those after 4 monsoonal months each winter. Which, by the way, was nearly 2 months longer this past year.

*shakes off drenched raincoat*

My bad. I left the house this morning without a coat, thinking it would be warmer later on in the day, like it was yesterday.

Do you have to pay to receive? And is it alot? We only pay to send, and it's not a lot. Phone calls on the other hand - that's alot.

It's spring here - daffofils, baa lambs, cherry blossom, birdsong, bright green leaves budding.

Send it down here. The summer drought makes me nervous, especially this time of year.

Ditto. We had none of our usual winter rain at all. Now summer is coming - the crops are dying, the garden is dying, the rainwater tank we rely on for drinking and washing is nearly empty... and we could be looking at a rerun of the Ash Wednesday Bushfires which burnt out my district (as well as substantial other areas of the country). Last year's major fires on the Eyre Peninsula were nothing in comparison....

Please do a rain dance for us.

Dear jawnbc,

You live in VANCOUVER. What the fuck did you expect? If you want sun, move to LA.

Sincerely,

Father Nature

I'm now back in Calgary after 4 glorious (yes even with the rain) days in Vancouver. My skin LOVES all the humidity there...here in Calgary I flake up and look like a lizzard. So yes, embrace it and know that that little bit of negative in the rain is well worth all the positives Vancouver has to offer.

I would absolutely take a week of your rain right now and I'll send you our sun for a week, okay?
