All over again

jawnbcI sorta had a job interview yesterday. Well, I actually had a job interview yesterday. I wasn't sure I wanted the job, but I wanted to explore the opportunities it might represent. Turns out it's an OK job, but the pay's too low and the scope for advancement (beyond expanding the role) very narrow. But rather than be presumptuous I decided to wait and here. And here I did, mere moments ago: I made the "very, very short list"...which I politely declined. The woman was gracious and said she liked what I had on offer and would keep me in mind for other roles "more suited to your background." Doubt it would happen (the roles, not her thinking of me for them), but still that's a pretty good outcome.
I've spent the morning developing a lecture on statistics for people a-scared of 'em. There's a particular satisfaction making folks who loathe something kinda sorta get it. Though there's a particular burning of the soul when a teacher abjectly fails.
In other news I'll be going for an ice skate tonight, in the new nelly blue skates. I'll try to get![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
querrelle to take a photo of my legs in the air. With the skates on. And me knickers: we three-peated this week already.
Oh, and married 2 years as of yesterday. Very much nearly almost entirely wonderful.
