This week's excitement has included:

-getting trapped in a broken elevator, alone, for about 10 minutes. Buddy who answered the emergency phone said "I have no idea where 828 West 10th Avenue is"

-teaching a class on coding qualitative data--can I please have this group of students for the rest of my life? Smart, engaged, intuitive.

-let go of the federal government policy recruitment process. With love, I let go with love

-1..2...and tonight makes 3 nosebleeds. So I won't be going out tonight after all (what do you wear with a bloody cotton ball?)

-a fair number of RSVPs for our upcoming housewarming shindig. A couple of selfish friends think a cruise booked 8 months is more important than our housewarming. Make that ex-friends

-watched the right wing beat the rabid scary right wing in the US election.

-the first bout of mid-week nookie with the husband in weeks. Tell me [livejournal.com profile] sarahparah [livejournal.com profile] gfrancie [livejournal.com profile] melanie, is this the new normal?

-significant progress on a new questionnaire for a study

Time to do the dishes

It was only two weeks....and I didn't force you to be a high-powered political activist, holed up in vital power-broking meetings until the small hours...

I don't know.
Hrm... I suppose it depends upon a variety of circumstances.

You know, when a man gets a nosebleed in a Japanese anime, there's only one thing in his mind...

Yikes, elevator stuckness is not fun. The only thing I ever learnt, and remember in great detail, from an earthquake preparedness video that we were forced to watch in school was how to get out of a stuck elevator. (Silly at the time, as none of us 12-year olds would have had the strength to realise the necessary steps.)

Remind me to explain it to you when we finally have tea in Vancouver. December, are you around? I'll be ther at some point.
