jawnbcA wonderful day in Auckland, city of sails!
We had brekkie, then waddled down the hill to Queen Street. Where we acquired cheap clothes, so-so coffee, and explored the city's high street. However when I saw the sign for The Warehouse my nipples got hard and I nearly soiled meself: The Warehouse is a by-the-bin-lot bargain department store, and we scored several "party shirts". Plus a Bic Runga CD for NZ$13. Score!
We waddled around the downtown core some more, enjoying a perfect flat white at the MLC Cafe, before hitting our local Chinese-pitched souvenir store. After pricing things at about half a dozen shops, turns out the little shop nearest us was by far the best value. As an example: 500g tub of lanolin creme was NZ$10 there, versus NZ$22-25 everywhere else. Score again!

growler_south came to our hotel for an official kiwi kia ora. Then we met mikeybill, paulo38 and paddygrappler and some of their pals for a grand dinner. Expensive but wonderful, and it was nice to discover that folks I largely knew online were, in fact, really fun, clever, cheeky mares in person. A few of us had a nightcap at Mea Culpa, before bed time.
I love Auckland. Always have. These guys made me love it even more.
