After a lovely day puttering through our meal preparations,
querrelle and I took a brief walk into Stanley Park. Even sticking to the nearer, ostensibly less damaged part was pretty sobering: so many mangled and destroyed trees. But it's part of nature's cycle and I'm confident the Park will bounce back. And then we bounced back home.
Cooking in tandem can be tricky, but things came off without a hitch. Our guests (
toneyvr, Ed and Jeannette) arrived almost when we expected them, and from the hors d'ouevres to the christmas pudding it was quite the feast. We paced it nicely, but really with family like this everything moved along really nicely on its own.
Also spoke briefly with Ma and some of the nieces...but missed most of the folks, who did a typical Egan dine-n-dash: my bad for forgetting they'd clear out before 6 (EST).
I am blessed. I do not take it for granted. Here's hoping you all had a merry, peaceful holiday. Now it's time to retire the Merry Merry playlist on my iPod...
