Finally caught late arvo showing of Dreamgirls today. And like most thinks that have been hyped for weeks, my reaction was meh. Thought I also thought about 30 minutes into it "I can totally tell this was done by the same dude as Chicago". And not in a good way. The cast, however, were great--and not just Jennifer Hudson and Eddie Murphy. Don't think it was anything close to a "best picture".

But then again I'm not much of a fan of the shrieking diva school of singing.

I forced myself through it because it came on DVD from the Academy and well, it was there. I'd heard so much hype I kept waiting for something, anything. I'm happy for Eddie Murphy, but... Oy. Just not my type of movie.
