After a bit of a rough start I was very productive today. Got a conference paper banged out (not due until 01 April) and decided at 16h30 to treat myself to a ride to Grouse mountain for some 'boarding, It was raining in the city when I left, but by the time the gondola got to the top it had switched to snow.

The conditions were springish, but there was a lot of fog. At first the combo of the 2 freaked me a bit. Then I found my groove and took my first crack at carving turns using the edges of the board only. VERY tricky. After an hour I went in for a bite, then did almost another hour once the fog cleared. A good time.

Cool. Where's your conference? Mine's in Boston, and I'm presenting on the 5th. I'm trying to make it so I'm talking about music (like my abstract said), but not get too technical. Cross-disciplinary stuff can be way cool, but it can also be a royal pain in the ass.
