try some, buy some
Jul. 28th, 2007 03:02 pmUp bright and early this morning to meet the Texans* for an early breakfast. I decided to treat myself and order some home fries...but does anyone else find it weird for a resto to serve deep-fried potatoes as home fries? I thought home fries were sliced boiled prawtees with onions, salt and peppper? So I skipped 'em.
I then scooted up to Oakridge for a visit to Zellers, where the lowest price is the law. Rolling around in their men's section for an hour produced some tighty whiteys, a work out shirt and some rawhide gloves. I had been trying to get to my local Body Shop all week, but remembered there's one in Oakridge. Sadly with the Estée Lauder takeover they've changed my prefered toner (Seaweed) and added some shite that makes it foam and stink. I'll give their Vitamin E a go. Also nabbed some bath pillows and lip balm. Being a frequent flyer with them meant a wee giftie too. :)
I scooted down Cambie Street towards home. Cambie is where the new Canada Line Skytrain from downtown Vancouver to the airport is currently being built. So Cambie is a veritable gauntlet, with 4 lanes of traffic narrowed to 2 for about 4km. And all along the route are cut-and-cover excavations for the line, which will be underground mostly. Ooh, what a big hole!
I popped into Canadian Tire to see a recliner on offer for a super-duper price: no recliner. Then I stopped at the Bute Street public market and grabbed some organic cheese, fruit and veg. Only to discover my husband at home gagging for a shagging. But he went off to look at a car (didn't buy it) and will be home promptly. This evening? Simpsons movie!
Tonight more fireworks.
