and password
and it says they're wrong.

Once you get the right module, you may need to reboot. I don't think inetd will start all the necessary daemons unless there's an active net connection.

Date: 2007-07-30 10:10 pm (UTC)To get connected to the net, I had to download a few files from my ISP first (another reason why keeping a Windoze partition was helpful...), and copy them into /etc/ppp/. On my old computer, I also had to run something called pppoeconf after doing that, but on this one, IIRC, my connection just automatically worked once the ISP files were in the right place.
