I am up to my snothole in qualitative data. Synthesizing some coding, to be more precise. It's the heavy lifting part of qualitative research and can be both interesting and tedious. But this should be the last of it for the book. Next will be writing the last data chapter before starting the first revision. Right now I feel like I did towards the end of my PhD...so I'm hoping that also means this thang will be in da can in a few months.

Or at least out for review.

I found my desk today, under various forms of detritus. Included was this photo of my brother and me:

[Poll #1030591]

I'm 8 in the photo. It was taken just before the summer costume part at the Queensborough Public Library (116th Street Branch, RIP).

ah library costume parties - when I was 8 I went as the magic pudding (http://www.joseflebovicgallery.com/Magic/JLG/Large/007.jpg) with an ice cream bucket over my head - it wasn't a very successful year and really indicated more my mother's mental health... the following year I went as the crocodile from peter pan, all green with a great set of snappers and got my photo in the paper

HAHAHA That is a fantastic picture. I still love playing dress-up. I wish I could talk more Aussies into unleashing the inner child, but they get Sooooo serious about it. Pfft! I've got some work to do...

Do you still have the picture? Can you share it with the world?

Is there the dress up for Hallowe'en tradition in Australia?

Not really (much to my disappointment). It is starting to creep in with the occasional party. This year we even had a few trick or treaters, but the paretns had dropped the candy off earlier so that we could give it to the kids. Not a bad idea, really. The kids loved it. I think I freaked them out a little, as I was wearing a BIG hat full of fake flowers.

.....well, it was all I had at short notice.
