Well that fucking sucked.

EejitWoman blows a red light by about 3 seconds...just as I enter the intersection on my hog scooter. I saw her in enough time to reduce our impact somewhat, but she still caught my front wheel and I still went down.

I'm fine--not a scratch, in fact. The bike has lots of scratches, rattles and won't turn over. It's now in the custody of ICBC. To her credit she fully admits she ran the light and someone stopped and gave me his card as a witness.

Being bikeless for several weeks will suck hard though.

Uggg! Sorry to hear that! I hate red-light jumpers. Been nearly caught a few times, and now enter every intersection as the 2nd vehicle through - use a car as the battering ram!
I am all for red-light cameras. They are everywhere in the UK, and the statistics of reduced collisions is mind-boggling.
Hope you get your bike back soon.
Hugs
X

Glad you are ok.....

Too bad you can't get a bike rental covered while yours is being fixed.

Not fun! Wakes you up, doesn't it?

Glad you weren't a second earlier, that's for sure!

Glad to hear that you are uninjured. You may need to replace your helmet as most are typically rated as safe for only one impact. Bad drivers suck.

Yow! Friggin' flaky cages!!
I credit your natural grace and skating balance for your scratchless state. Glad you're unscathed; the scoot can be repaired. Maybe by someone like this icon...

Yikes. Glad you're alright.

Was this in Vancouver? After driving there for a couple days last month, I'm totally not surprised. It's especially fun when the person you're trying to follow decides to gun it through a yellow, leaving you to gun it through the... uh... orange, only the person turning left has the same idea. Avoided a collision, at least.

It could have been so much worse, let's be thankful that it isn't. Glad you are OK.

Wow better rattled than skittled I suppose. It is some consolation that you were watching the road on her behalf even though she's the one who was driving the lethal vehicle.

That sucks. Thankfully it wasn't you that ended up with all the scratches, rattles and the inability to turn over.

I've had a few close calls, none of which were my fault, I swear they are out to get us. My slogan in life is, "It should be legal to shoot stupid people"

I'm glad you're okay. Scary motorists got me off my (pedal) bike.
At least she copped to her guilt.

Really glad to hear you're OK.

Not glad to hear about the accident. I hope the bike is back with you in tip-top condition soon, and that the driver learns a valuable lesson from the near miss.
