Swisscom has for once been pretty accommodating with the phones. You can buy one with or without a contract. The service is high compared to US prices but very reasonable compared to similar products in the Swiss market.
They opened the shops at 6.30 AM and were sold out by 7.30 before half the people waiting in line were served. They are all on a waiting list now.
