I can see Russia from my house
Sep. 16th, 2008 10:05 pmFlight was uneventful. First time evar a gay flight attendant flirted shamelessly with me. Too bad he wasn't my type, I'm married, and I'm enroute to a funeral...
For the first time evar, an Egan was waiting curbside for me when I came out the doors of the terminal. Tommy gave me a big hug and put my bags in the car. And this is how he greeted me:

He's a Republican. No, really. But he knew it'd get a rise out of me. When I saw the bumper sticker taped to the window I laughed so hard I thought I was gonna pee myself. So we gave each other another big hug and set off for Nanny's house. Via Wendy's drive-through, since there'd be no commestibles at the (currently unoccupied) house.
I found the hidden key, but by then Mr. Security expert had busted in (within busting anything). We got the hot water heater turned up, found me towels etc, and he went home. I'm set up in the spare bedroom off the front porch. With the wake starting Thursday morning I expect people will start arriving tomorrow afternoon and evening. Hopefully someone's had the sensible idea to bring an air mattress or five. Ma and Da won't come until Thursday morning, because of Ma's need for oxygen. Funeral is Friday.
Off to bed; I've got to switch to NY time.
