toneyvr and I were up at Cypress this morning for 09h. On the alpine side of the resort it's World Cup Snowboard time (half-pipe today), so a lot of people have stayed away. Good for us; bad for them. The conditions were great--particularly so since there's not been any fresh snow in about 4 days.

'Twas the first time this season we could go to the top of Hollyburn Ridge: to get there requires a steep climb or two, and when it's icy it's not fun. Today the snow was soft and dry so we went for it. What a great decision too. All in all we covered about 10km, including some nice skis down black diamond runs. We left after a couple of hours, cheerfully wobbly-legged.

It's a sunny day here in Vancouver. What an amazing place we live in!
