Probably the most comprehensive win in the 12 points era of the Eurovision. Norway averaged 9.43 points per country (out of a possible 12). Stunning really.  But the UK (5th) and France (8th) were both back in the top 10. I'm especially pleased for Estonia's 6th place!

We know now that Finland were the jury choice in the first semi-final (so sad again for Macedonia), in which Iceland just beat Turkey. Czech Republic got null points.  In the second semi-final Croatia was the jury's save, bumping Serbia (Ireland was 11th; Norway won, followed by Azerbaijan and Estonia).

Yeah that was something else wasn't it.
I was pleased that UK wasn't at the bottom this year. (though my friends and I couldn't help but make fun of the song and ask if she needed some "me time".) My feeling about the winner is that a particular segment of the population (12 year old girls and middle-aged ladies) will always be lured in by a shaggy-haired man-child.

I really liked Iceland - Yohanna. Norway - not so much (but the boyz tumbling eye-candy wasn't bad ;-)

I was pleased to see France, Estonia, and especially Iceland do so well. Votes to Turkey, Romania, nad Moldova were constantly booed here, and Norway wasn't loathed but people were pretty "m'eh" around here. Germany and Spain's results were disappointing as several people here liked both songs.

after about round 5 of voting we found ourselves going hard for iceland to finish second - it was obvious only Norway could win by then - loved Iceland - was almsot to good for Eurovision
