I sent back my adopted baby

jawnbcA few years back I bought a really kewl scooter. Really, really kewl. And big. Really, really big. Too big, in fact, for someone booting around town. querrelle : going camping, touring rural BC, creating world peace. I did a couple of longish trips (Whistler, Vancouver Island) and it was OK. But never fun. I'm just a big fan of travelling 100km/h with only clothing to protect you from the pavement. Or the bad driving of others.
There was enough superficial body damage that made the other bike not easy to sell. And I didn't want to spend hundreds of $ to sell it. So I used it from time to time and figured I'd figure something out eventually. Back in January I posted a message to the local online scooter community saying it was for sale. Nothing happened until a few weeks ago, when someone expressed interest.
Turns out he had already upgraded from 50cc to 200cc, but wanted something to solidly take him out to Langley to see his brother. In my fantasy world I dreamed of a swap with someone who had about a 200cc bike, something like the Aprilia Scarabeo 200. Which looks like this:
Dude, turns out, had this scooter. And was interested in a trade. My crazy, exciting life meant we misconnected for over a week, but we did meet today....and it's a done deal. I have this one (and some cash in my pocket); he has my Piaggio X9 Evo 500cc. We are both exceedingly happy. It was so nice to be on a lithe, easy to ride scooter again.
