One of my first experiences with "gaydar" was in purchasing that recording. A large, furry man, without solicitation, said "That's a great album" as he walked by. I knew that something significant had happened, but I didn't know what.
when i was in....4th grade? i joined the BMG music club on the 12 tapes for 1 cent deal. i got the best of Banarama and 2 Madonna albums...THAT shoulda told me something, eh?
of course, i had no money at the time and i couldn't remember to return the tapes they sent me, so i ended up racking up a huge late fee.
