Have you seen the movie Damage? The first moment where Juliette Binoche and Jeremy Irons see each other is mesmerizing, and she is stunning in that movie.

Awfully noble of you to think of Africans, but the majority of the world's gold doesn't come from there at all:

http://www.goldsheetlinks.com/production.htm

And the world's top silver producers these days are Mexico, Peru, Australia, the United States, and Canada (in order).

OK, I'm being picky. But you could've just said "They're not my style" rather then erroneously linking them to a favorite political cause.

It's a shame. He's very good in two or three movies, this one included (Dead Ringers is another).

But the question was 'gold or silver', not precious metals or gems.

And it gets into some very interesting cultural issues. By far, the largest consumer use of gold is for jewelry in India--not the US or Europe. Thus, would it be correct to demand that Indians give up their gold jewelry to improve the lives of gold miners?

Silver's kind of interesting anyway; the biggest use of silver is for photographic film, not jewelry.

I guess what I'm saying is that it's a bit condescending to automatically assume that poor exploited Africans are producing luxury items for rich Westerners.

Except for some areas of the diamond trade, it's generally not true.

I'm sorry for nitpicking. I'm just being a grumpus today. Maybe it's the seasons changing or something.
