I got that emailed to me by a friend - I was skeptical since it had no source of original publication...no indication of when she wrote it...nothing. I figured it was a hoax or something like that.

Thanks for clearing that up -- while I loved what the letter said, I was not going to pass that e-mail I got around with Bette's name on it because I knew she didn't write it and I can't stand giving props to the wrong person even if the content is of value. Now I can pass around the link through e-mail and maybe even recruit some more live journalers.

Edith Ann (Lily Tomlin) once said "the truth can be made up, if you know how" -- and I know she said that because I had the album it was on!
