I know you're on the plan right now, but my mobile is 0403 888 498. if someone gives you a local number in australia (like 02 9351 8647) drop the 02--that's the area code. but for mobiles you need the whole number, including 0 at the front.

I can loan you a phone if you're ending and starting your trip in Sydney--it'll make things much easier for you. Just pop into Virgin Mobile in the Pitt Street Mall and get a SIM card. In Oz you only pay to send SMS (very popular) and to make calls--not to receive calls.
