Boil that dustspeck! Boil that dustspeck!
Oct. 24th, 2004 12:28 pmyip! YOP!!!!!!!
The weekend is unfolding nicely. Both of us had a bucket of jet lag poured over our heads Friday afternoon. Regardless we made a cameo appearance at bear night, chatted with several nice people, stayed precisely long enough for our clothes to smell like a wet fucking overflowing ashtray. Tabarnak!
Saturday his nibs was kung fufighting training; I simultaneously was getting a haircut/razor shave at my local Greek barber. The barber college industry in Greece must be huge--who doesn’t have a Greek barbershop in their town? Sadly his work wasn’t as good as last time. Meh.
We then headed to Bondi for our first beach day of the season (it was 28C yesterday). Grand. We stopped at Westfield Bondi (sad when a socialist gets a woody over a new shopping mall, but it is pretty spectacular) to pick up a prezzie for
querrelle’s sifu (wing chun master). Then a quick ablute before teppanyaki dinner for said sifu fête. Teppanyaki wasn’t the best (skip The Rocks Teppanyaki; go to the one at Darling Harbour/SEC instead), but the company was great. Still, we rolled home and had to delay sleep until enough matter had moved through the GI tract (else face the scourge of reflux). Lights out was around 01h00.
This morning the Mrs. is making brekkie on the barbie, after having gone out to fill the gas tank. Afterwards, some “relaxation” (heh heh), and a nesting day. Tonight I’ll return to Sunday night @ the Shift with my mate Mark (and perhaps the Mrs).
The volatility of the American electorate causes me great consternation. I worry.

Date: 2004-10-23 11:49 pm (UTC)But when I was a travel agent specialising in Oz years ago, most folks flew into Hobart and out of Launceston. car hires there allow free drops in either direction. If you want to hit one of the big parks, pick only 1--unless you've got a week or more.
Have you read Kenneally's The Great Shame? He covers the Aussie-19th century republican movement connections really well--and there's lots to do with Tassie.
Will you be here for da Oirish cruise?
And Immovane has a longer half life--much better for the uber-long flights :)
