Why Canada stayed out...and Bush can F**k awf

Well said. This, I mean. For those who might not understand current Canadian policy regarding Iraq--and why so many Canucks take umbrage at Bush’s contention that the US is the gold standard for international relations.

Oh dear God. Paul Cellucci. Grrrr......

Although having him represent my country in Canada is quite embarrassing, it did get that fucktard out of the Massachusetts governor's mansion. He can do far less damage shooting off his dullard mouth in Ottawa than when he was here in Boston holding the reins of power. Or rather, letting his fat-pig Republican cronies run the show while he sucked up to George Jr. for a Cabinet appointment (which he didn't get -- Canada was a sop.)

Mmm... the writer worked in a guilt-laced reference to the Halifax Christmas tree. Nice shot.

I think it's worth pointing out too that the kind of argument documented in the editorial does not just represent the views of the editorialist. The correlation between what is said there and what I hear from ordinary folk at our Village Diner (yes that Vilage Diner), many of whom do not follow politics closely or have an in-depth knowledge of the history of US-Candian relations - is striking. What they do know is that the country that they sent money to after September 11 is not one whose leaders they respect any more, or whose priorities they share. And they know also that the line fed to them by Cellucci is wrong, and deeply resent it.

It is like a little kid who knows he did something wrong and desperately looking for some padding on the back "it is OK, you did the right thing!" ... it is not like the US is really looking for military support from us Canucks or from Mexico, but they keep putting pressure for empty political support from politicians from all over the world! I have a feeling they are looking for cahoots in crimes more than anything! The more they want "support", they more they show their guilty feelings ... don't you think?
