Apr. 17th, 2003 04:54 pmJust in from a quick sojourn to lovely, scenic Newcastle, a mere 2.5 hours up the coast from Sydney. Restful.
Had a call from my local travel agent on Monday. Apparently UA has dropped their daily SYD-SFO service to thrice weekly (Sa-Su-M). I was booked on a Tuesday, and the reroute via LAX misconnected with my SFO-YVR flight. Was gonna spend a night in SF, then thought "why?" UA has agreed and allowed me to switch my flight to Saturday 17 May. Four more days in Hongcouver--woo hoo!
Jawn happy!
This past week has seen a flurry of pre-Eurovision activity. Mostly--OK entirely--in the form of downloading previous years' songs. Winners and shoulda-beens. I'm still not quite over Marie N's "I wanna" lame-arse mambo-esque winning last year. My choices were France or Malta, though power ballads about growing up in a war zone (France) really don't stand a chance in the saccharine world of Eurovision. Now only 5 weeks to go to see what happens this year.
Having been away for a couple of days the whole FrMoose/Zach drama is intriguing--while I found him rather pedantic and self important when we chatted on IRC some years ago, I had no inclination he was a sociopath...and still don't. But I'd *love* to read his LJ blog, though everyone seems loathe to give his user name.
