For our non-Canuck friends, Rick Mercer is arguably the great Canadian political satirist of the day.

This shit is awesome!

That one's already a classic. However the bit with Pierre Burton explaining how to roll a joint is pure comic genius.

Fuck I love this country.

Several of the talking with Americans clips come to mind too....

I enjoyed his brief interview with Dubbya, back when he was first "elected". Mercer managed to get to the head of the line of reporters and asked a bunch of questions about what his plans were for visiting Canada and fostering harmony and continued economic growth between the US and Canada. As he said all this, he kept referring to Chretien as Crouton. And Dubbya replied about how he was a deep respect for Prime Minister Crouton. Heh.

Then there was the trip down to the US shortly after the twoonie was introduced. The loonie was explained, the twoonie was explained, and then Mercer said that the government was about to release a $5 coin, which would be made of wood.... The end shot was a group of Americans saying, without laughing, "Congratulations, Canada, on your first woodie!" heh.

I'm impressed - shame some TV company over here doesn't buy in this stuff from CBC.
