The predicted chaos never materialized in Atlanta, SLC or Sydney...London will deal with it fine.

You miss my point, ultimately they will cope fine with the Olympics, it's just the seven years of transport upgrades that will be necessary to do so that will cause the chaos. Ask anybody who worked in Sydney while their "Olympic" roads were being built.
