Thanks for evoking a fond memory. Blondie was my first conscious celebrity crush. Parallel Lines was the first album that I ever bought, although I believe that "Atomic" is on Eat to the Beat. Has someone covered it recently?

"Eat to the Beat" is such an amazing album. As Cartman would say, it's hella-cool!

To quote a character from FEMALE TROUBLE: 'I've got a knife in my purse, and I'm gonna cut you after class' (for getting that song stuck in my head...)

Surprisingly, I have two “Atomic” stories.

#1, as a running gag, my friend [livejournal.com profile] bigjohnsf used to annoy the Saturday night DJ at the Lone Star (none other than the infamous Chris Xefos) by requesting “Atomic” every Saturday night. He’d roll his eyes, but he’d always play it.

#2, elementary-school music teacher [livejournal.com profile] keanubear got the kids in his class to play “Atomic” for their Spring Concert!
