If I was making up a list of my overall favorites with more than a few minutes to think about it, I certainly would have included Celia Cruz, Pete "El Conde" Rodriguez, Mariam Makeba, Aretha Franklin, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Sunni Ade, and Dionne Warwick. Anyway, R&B, salsa, jazz, afrobeat, juju, blues, hiphop, samba, and a whole range of styles. :-)
