Korean baths

jawnbcYesterday Scottand I went to the Ginseng Baths over in Kings Cross. Not, it's not one of those bathhouses.
For $25 you get access to a wicked hot bath, a nicely warm one, a cool one and warmish ginseng-infused one. Plus dry and wet saunas. For another $27 (less if you add massage, facials or other treatments), you get your body scrubbed down and soaped up for 15 minutes. Which of course we both did. The scrub doesn't include your feet or head (cultural? hygienic reasons?), so afterwards Scott and I took over a corner of the shaving stations and gave each other lovely foot massages/scrubs. From the saliva on their chins, I surmised there were a number of guys who had a "thing" for feet...and a lot probably presumed Scott and I are boyfriends. Nope, just good mates. He has nice feet though.
I assume there are such facilities in Vancouver, and I will find them when I return for good in August. In the meantime, I've committed to trying to get there at least once a month, as it does much for my oft-weary body and soul.
