And finally a post-modern pastiche that, like nearly every original ESC winner, barely squeaked out a victory.

Can we just fast-forward to the “Waterloo”/“Diva” showdown, already? I’m frankly surprised “Every Way That I Can” has lasted this long. It’s really not in the same league.

Sertab's my choice, hands down. Has been long before the Final 14 were announced. And if you didn't love the original, her reprise at the 2004 contest should've endeared her to every phag on da planet!

Don’t get me wrong, it didn’t suck...though it was another one of those songs like “Wild Dances” where the performance/performer is far more memorable than the actual tune. It’s decent enough pop disco, definitely better than most of the 2004 crop (which I remember being pretty slim pickins). Certainly far from bad, in any case.

But in the same league as “Waterloo” or “Diva”? No frickin’ way!

it would seem the Sertab vote has collapsed. shame as it was a genuinely good song that came from a country which had produced crap on a regular basis and had one of the best presentations (vocal and dance) in many a Eurovision year.
