Dec. 18th, 2005 05:07 pmZe festive shopping, she iz done.
The cocksuckingmuthafucking2balledbastard of a cold, not so much.
3 things to wrap, hair to clip, husband to sodomize (OK, he'll sodomize me--don't be so...anal), lamb to BBQ, printing for meeting to print.
A year ago I had just flown back to Sydney from Dublin, after a job interview. Today I was Xmas shopping on Granville Street, santa cap on, iPod blasting Xmas music, and I was pretty freakin' merry.
I might have mentioned this last year, but «Minuit chrétien»/"O Holy Night" is my favourite song, period. Not holiday song, favourite song. When it's sung badly I'm gutted; when it's sung beautifully I howl. And it's one of the few overtly Xtian Christmas songs that gives me any sense of faith. 'Tis a shame Christianity couldn't have been based more on the birth and life of Jesus, rather than his torture and execution. Because the beginnings of his story are pretty fucking beautiful, fanciful or not.
