If you're a misanthrope, please unfriend me. Really. I'll return the favour as soon as I clue in.

I don't expect/need you to be chipper or obsequious, but if you can't ever find a good thing to say about anyone--except, of course, how clever and funny you are--we're not on the same page. Anymore. Thank Gawd.

I agree many things in life are unfair. I've experienced more than my share. But I know that being unwell, single, poor, a Democrat--none of these circumstances necessitate having the personality of barbed wire. Chances on the folks here egging you on are similarly attired

If you're working away from perennial snarkiness, or even just trying to be a bit less snarky, stick around. I'm all about folks trying to be better people. I am too. And sometimes the stuff on your plate will make a rant appropriate, even healthy. Me too.

But the relentless "edgy" digs, cheap shots, and venial "oooh, I am soooo clever because I see that person z is sooo not clever" postings? Their sum total contribution to making the world a better place is -1.

Sincerely,

The Lemonade Maker™

Oy, if this is about the latest postings in [livejournal.com profile] catholicism, I apologize, but I found those two posts to be way tacky and inappropriate, given the season we're in. Like I mentioned to [livejournal.com profile] marjai, it's like bringing popcorn to a Yom Kippur service.

Yeah I mean, caffeine, snark, and no sex. That sums up grad school.

The 3000 mile problem presents difficulty, as well. I mean, Steve's good, but he's not *that* good. :)

LOL. I'd like to know how much both of you had to drink, if it were the former.

You're not bitter at all at least not on LJ. Bitter involves nihilism and you're anything but.

I have a misanthropic streak, I just try to cope with it by being optimistic. My Pollyanna kicks my misanthropic Cassandra's ass, although I keep fearing Cassandra understands the world better. :)

Harumph! They're both genderqueer and MUCH more fabulous than you can possibly imagine. How like a MAN not to realize that just from a web post! Next you'll be trying to wield your phallus on me (oh God, please).

You know you're excessively catty when the EGANS are calling you to account!

But you're right.

A compilation of egocentric histrionic misanthropic livejournal posts could cure insomnia AND nymphomania in one shot. We should look into marketing one.

See. Egans are snarky. If they're telling you to stop you know you have a real problem. That's like Hunter S. Thompson telling you you don't need any more drugs.

I finally had the time to read your paper, so I was going looking for it through your posts. I didn't find it, incidentally. I would like to read it.

I noticed that you have unfriended me recently. I hope that I have said nothing to offend you. If I have please let me know what it was.

Thanks, John. It is an interesting and useful paper with relevance not just to health education, but to any kind of education, and I am thinking particularly of conscious raising education such as rights education. I suspect the ideas may also be relevant to educating the straight community about the gay world.

It takes me back to Paolo Friere's Pedagogy of the Oppressed which I will read again, as well as Foucault when his book arrives from Amazon.

And, yes, I am always happy to receive open and honest feedback, if you do have anything to say to me. ;-)

Cheers, Mal
