OK, to be brief: 5 categories: yes, should, maybe, no and WTF/dunno. These are in order from best to least in each category
Yes:Bosnia, Sweden, Russia, Macedonia, Estonia
Should:Belgium, Ireland, Ukraine
Maybe:Slovenia, Cyprus, Turkey, Armenia, Poland, Andorra, Albania, Portugal
No:Bulgaria, Netherlands, Monaco, Belarus
WTF/dunno: Iceland, Lithuania
I was disappointed by Silvia (ICE), she wasn't in her best voice. And she ad-libbed too much. But it was memorable. As for Lithuania...why does anyone thing this was well-staged?
Audience: YOU SUCK. BOOING at Eurovision. Sucks.

Date: 2006-05-18 09:14 pm (UTC)Carola impressed me. She’s grown a lot as a performer since 1991. Though the fact that the song seems absolutely contrived and calculated to win left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Come on, Sweden, you’ve won four times already! Let someone else have a chance!
Still, at least they were gunning for votes via purely musical means. Unlike Poland’s entry, which coasted on gimmickry to a degree I never thought possible. And was that James from Pokémon on vocals?
I was disappointed by Lithuania. I thought that they’d at least do an interesting staging of their pathetic song. They’re not even pretending to try. Why take part at all?
Unlike Iceland. Silvia was clearly having fun. And it was a good performance, even if it was a rather silly song.
