After a long week, a bit of a lie-in was in order. I awoke to an empty bed: after many hours of snuggles Himself was out-n-about running errands. Upon his return we had a loverly puttery morning before he adjourned to brunch with b-cubed. I rang a couple of friends for brekkie but no luck. But I was committed to riding the new veehickle and ride it I did. I headed east, towards Commercial Drive.

Found a new (to me, anyway) Mexican joint and OMFG Becky--I had a good burrito! In Vancouver! WTF BBQ? LOL *does dance of squee*

Whilst on the East side I remembered there was a discount mattress store on Clark Drive. [livejournal.com profile] querrelle and I have sought a specific type of pillow since leaving one behind in Canada. They didn't have one, but they recommended a shop that might. So I toddled over to Rupert & Kingsway and grabbed it. When I got it home there was much rejoicing.

We then set out on our first joint roller-circumnavigation of Stanley Park. As we worked our way around the seawall the day got sunnier and warmer; just after going under the Second Narrows Bridge one rounds a bend into gorgeous sparkly sun on sea--marvellous! It took us about 90 minutes to make the 8km journey. To celebrate we treated ourselves to a moccachiller at our local café.

We have an incredible life here in Vancouver....on est chanceurs

H'mm. Might I ask about this special pillow?

It sounds like you do thoroughly enjoy Vancouver. Yay!

I know that bend in Stanley Park.

It's my favorite.

Yeah, it's so pretty here sometimes. Yesterday I was cycling with a friend and we went through a cool area just north of Strathcona. Woofy guys at the dock workers union place hanging out. A building that's getting renovated for something but they've but giant clay heads on the top. Trippy. Maybe it'll be an antique store. Then we eventually ended up near Stanley Park and had a coffee and watched everybody go by on the nice sunny day. I got some great pictures of the fluffy happy clouds too.

How's the scootoir? I sat on the electric chopper at City Biker yesterday. It's nice. I realize that the best part is the back rest on the seat.

I peaked into Red Burrito today and it seemed pretty good. I didn't have one but I will. I loved the Mexican movie posters on the walls.

OKay... FIRST of all, you guys are supposed to leave Mexican food up to Bellingham and Whatcom counties where it's far more... un... I was going to say "authentic", but in the cold cloudy and almost exclusively caucasian Whatcom, nobody will believe me. But ANYWAY, you should believe me 'cause we've got some KILLER authentic places here!

And SECONDLY, that's a good thing because you want to come spend your money in Santa Bellingham, to support our local economy with the Canadian discount (exchange rate)! It's only fair. When the exchange rate was better, I bought my Lego Robot kit up in Vancouver... and my Ski Boots! ;)

But no special pillows.
