I didn't think it possible, but the older (and fatter) I get the more things like Web Check-in give me a chubby. Got very nearly my ideal seat, boarding pass, and am ready to rock a whole day before my flight to The City that Fun Forgot. *schwing*

Am I the last person to hear about All of MP3.com? On the weekend I download:

-No boundaries, Sertab Erener
-Bienvenu chez moi Florent Pagny
-Breakaway Kelly Clarkson
-Expression Frida Boccara
-Various Turkish Groove (including Sertab, Gülseren, Tarkan)

And a few miscellanous tracks, all for $US10.00. Various formats available (mp3, m4a, WMA), cheap cheap prices. Apparently legal in Russia.

We also used Skype to chat with folks all over. Free within North America if you buy some time, and at $.02/minute for Australia, wicked cheap. Our mission is to get others on to use the internal (wholly free) version P2P.

It's all of very dubious legality. The Russian government is letting it go for now, but other countries (well, the States at least) are telling Russia they have to shut the site down before being allowed to enter the World Trade Organization. And, uh... the artists apparently don't get a penny for the sale. So I'd say either buy at a normal store (online or otherwise) or save your money and... you know... acquire your songs by alternate means.

Sertab is great isn't she? My favourite Turkish female singer is Sezen Aksu though - such a voice, such amazing over the top emotion - she's great.

Lordy. You are late to the plane party. I haven't stood in an airport ticket or check-in line in years. And still I'm amazed at how many people I see queued up to wait for an hour to check in.

I have to say, it'd be a cold day in hell before I gave any payment details to a web site of dubious legality ...

Seems to me that if they are willing to blatantly flout copyright laws they are unlikely to be too worried about identity theft.

As to Skype though, we use it all the time when travelling. Excellent product.
