Toronto International AIDS Conference - 13-18 August

bitterlawngnome, danthered and jawnbc are thinking of organizing a fun, stress-free social event. From my experience, the day of the Opening Ceremonies (Sunday 13 August, in the evening) is surprisingly unstructured--hence our shooting for that date.

Sounds good, but I just don't know whether that timing will work or not. (Meirion is also attending for the week but as a volunteer.)

My understanding is that the opening ceremonies are that afternoon (?)followed by a big concert in the evening with Elton John and Bono initially rumoured as headliners. But I may be wrong . .

Opening session starts at 7pm, opening dog-n-pony show at 9pm. There are satellite meeting times blocked for the Sunday, but from my experience those aren't too community focussed.

Oooh maybe Elton and Bono will sing "something stupid"?

The only thing being, I may be busy with volunteer activities. If that's the case, I'm there in spirit.
