Yup, the courts ordered the province of Ontario to immediately start issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Which they did. And to retroactively any same-sex marriages conducted by churches that perform same-sex marriages. Which they also did.

And 2 guys jumped right on it and got married to one another. Today. Legally.

While I doubt I'd ever do it, I'm darned glad to have the right.

Most days I'm grateful to be Canadian. Today even more so.

I'm in total agreement. At some point I do plan on having my relationship "blessed by the state", but either way.. I'm glad I do have the choice, should I want to go forward with it or not.

Not only that, but it also brings a certain air of responsibility to our relationships. As for legitimizing them... I'm mixed on this one. I could have a partnership ceremony anyway, without my relationship being sanctioned by the state. For me, it's about celebrating my life with my partner. :)

Bon, enfin! Y'était temps!

You guys deserve rights. I'm so tired of people being discriminated against for asinine things like religions, skin color or what the fuck they do with their genitals!

Ooops pardon the language! I just don't see why it's ok to recognize commonlaw unions but not gay/lesbian ones!
