studlybastard and I had coffee today, which ended just as the sun re-appeared. So much for an arvo by the pool. Then she and I went to the liquor store to buy some Guiness for elainemiller. Both of us have been sober for so long it took about 10 minutes to find the stuff--and our jaws simultaneously hit the floor when we saw the price.

I thought drinking in the pub was expensive. Glad I'm no longer a drunk. HMMG!

I know! I nearly shit myself when I saw that a 24 of crappy canned beer was 40 bucks. Insane.

Yeah, not to mention that you generally have to get liquor through our government controlled cartel. We really need to look to Europe (again) and start liberalizing the laws. It's arhaic and unnecessary. As if drinking some wine in public would lead to the downfall of our society.

Hard liquor is still your best bet. Buy a bottle of rum, some coke, and you get much more durnk for less money.
