a friend of mine helped write a portion of the book Biological Exuberance, the book that looks at homosexuality in the animal kingdom. I knew mentally that animals were equally capable of having a relationship like mine (in a limited way) but i never really thought about the ramifications of such a relationship. It makes me sad to think that buddy is alone. I wonder if he feels the same way I did when my first lover died?

It does make me glad that the people taking care of the swans are sensitive to the problem and not homophobic "we can force the swan to be straight" sorts.
I believe that would be much worse.
