At my uni here in Sydney, we always started official functions with the following words:
We acknowledge that we stand on the land of the Gadigal people of the Eora nation, the traditional custodians of this land. Land that was stolen but never ceded. We pay respect to their elders.
Sorry to get political, but it's important that we remember that. Happy Invasion Day.
