Last night I did snowboard lesson #2 up at Cypress. To be honest I was a bit daunted at the prospect of doing nothing but turns for 2 hours. So I set my expectations low, and hit the mountain for an hour before the lesson. Our instructor (Stefan) spoke archetypal boarderese, but was an excellent instructor. He could explain things in both technical and quotidian language.
By the end of it I was just starting to carve turns a wee bit, and was wholly confident of my ability to do green runs. If things unfold as I hope this weekend, I'll be up there on Sunday to do the next lesson (Stephan said I could) and practice. The mountain should get some fresh snow Saturday, which will only help.
I am a snowboarding Gawd!
